BOYS MONTH: Bogies licensing drive grows

Latest deal for stationery off to flyer, as Ignition lines up more product for future.

The rather unique Bogies property from Ignition Licensing is continuing to grow its licensed product line, with the latest range of stationery from Copywrite currently performing well in Asda.

Core product for the brand - which is aimed at six to 12 year-old boys (although the firm is keen to point out there is a sizeable female fanbase, too) - includes collectable 2.5-inch figurines, one-inch Pocket Bogies, Bogies Battlecards, Online gaming and ten-inch plush.

Other Bogies product including greetings cards, t-shirts and publishing will arrive throughout this winter and beyond.

In addition, key licensing categories under discussion include computer games, publishing, trading cards, food, apparel, toys and games.

High profile coverage in the Dandy Xtreme comic, alongside famous characters such as Desperate Dan and Bananaman, has helped to boost awareness of the brand, while the Halloween edition of the magazine featured free glow in the dark pocket bogies.

In addition, the Bogies website has had over 75,000 unique visitors since launch, with an average of 1,000 hits a day.
