BOYS MONTH: Ignition enjoying Bogies success

New style guide and characters give licensing programme a boost in UK and internationally.

Ignition Licensing is celebrating the success of Oddco's Bogies brand - in the UK and overseas - revealing a new style guide, characters and licensees.

The latest version of the style guide features over 100 characters, poses and backgrounds, with over a dozen brand new characters including the World Slop Footballers, which are rolling out to coincide with next year's World Cup tournament.

Joystick Junkies is reporting excellent sell-through in Next with its Bogies Gang t-shirt design, as well as the new Splatman & Gobbing long sleeved top. New products in the homewares category are currently under discussion, while Ignition is planning expansion of the apparel lines in spring/summer 2010.

Meanwhile, TDP Aykroyd has signed up for children's pyjamas and underwear, while Blues is enjoying success in BHS stores with its two new long sleeved t-shirts featuring Frankenslime and Optimus Slime.

Other new partners include Bravado (adult t-shirts), Fashion UK (kids' outerwear for retailers including Tesco and Asda) and E-max (sticker albums and stickers). Within the stationery sector, Copywrite is reporting strong sell-through in stores such as Toys R Us, Wilkinson, WH Smith and Asda.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the way Bogies is beginning to gain well-earned momentum through hard work and now proven sales success at retail," said Maggy Harris, licensing director at Ignition.

Internationally, sub agents are in place for North America (Jewel Licensing) and Italy (Teamworks). Negotiations are also on track for appointments in ANZ, the Far East, Spain and Central America for Bogies brand roll out throughout 2010.
