BOYS MONTH: Lucas planning more Star Wars action in 2011

Focus remains on Clone Wars, plus Blu-ray release of saga and Episode 1 in 3D.

Lucasfilm is readying three key initiatives for the evergreen Star Wars brand next year.

The firm will retain its focus on animated series, The Clone Wars, which is now entering its third season. New characters, adventures and worlds will all be unveiled when it kicks off.

In addition, the Star Wars Blu-ray Box Set will include all six live action films, as well as special features like documentaries, vintage behind the scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never before seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.

It is due to launch worldwide in autumn 2011.

Finally, the conversion to 3D of the films will begin in early 2012 with Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
