Bright Group International has hired former Penguin Children's Books executive, Lauren Holowaty, to run the Bright Literary Agency.

The division is responsible for picture book and fiction authors, as well as developing new content.

Holowaty represents original and bespoke children's book writers and author/illustrators, as well as providing editorial services.

"I'm very excited about joining the Bright Literary Agency and working with such a dedicated and creative team," she commented. "I am enjoying adding to the depth of literary talent already represented."

Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, BGI MD, added: "Lauren offers us a huge level of experience and expertise in the children's books sector. Having written hundreds of children's books herself, and worked with award winning names, she has an eye for recognising talent and prize winning masterpieces, and will be a fantastic asset for the Bright Literary Agency."
