Bright Group International has set up a new division to focus specifically on managing properties which have the potential to expand into the brand licensing sector.
Bright and Beyond Licensing will debut at Brand Licensing Europe later this month, with its full property portfolio being showcased.
This includes Hallmark's Country Companions and ZSL London Zoo, both of which have been successfully extended into publishing, as well as characters based on picture books Barry the Fish with Fingers and Wanda the Alien.
Bright and Beyond also represents exclusive content currently being created by Will Brenton from Wish Films. Two picture books - Elephant White and Claude - have already been snapped up by Egmont.
In addition, B&B will manage the creation of in-house content, producing a range of design, publishing and content-led properties with potential across all sectors.
"The creation of Bright and Beyond has been born out of necessity," said Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, BGI MD. "We are now doing so much work in the field of brand licensing and our increasing success and growth in this area made it vital for us to have a dedicated licensing division.
"The focus will be on representing and developing brands that show real strength in their story and background, and building a solid basis for brand extension based on the integrity of the property's values."
