Taylor-Kielty has led the creation and design of many of the characters to come out of Hallmark for the last 15 years.
He has worked on big brands such as Country Companions, and has created several new characters. He was also responsible for re-visualising the Forever Friends brand in 2004.
Bright Group MD Vicki Willden-Lebrecht commented: “We are delighted to have signed Simon Taylor-Kielty. it’s incredibly exciting to have someone with his talent and experience on board.
“Now he’s a freelancer, we are looking to advance his career even further and will be working with Simon to develop and launch his own branded licensed cute characters.
"Simon will be working closely with Ellie Wharton at the Bright Academy to break out some fabulous new worlds and stories for these new characters, and at the Bright Group we have the experience and contacts to make them come to life on a global platform.”
Taylor-Kielty added: “After fifteen years at Hallmark I decided it was time for a change and so decided to go freelance. That meant I needed an agent and Bright immediately sprang to mind.
“In terms of future projects I’m looking to create a new wonderful, lovable and endearing character – something that can be as big as the properties I have worked on in the past. I have also started working on illustrating children’s books – which I love.
"With Heartfelt covering greetings and the Bright Agency dealing with children’s books, this means that Bright has got all my bases covered - I’m very excited about the future.”
