Broadcasters commit to Franco & Formula Fun

New show racks up five deals after successful debut at Mip Junior.

Ambitious Formula Fun Entertainment walked away from Mipcom Junior with five broadcast deals under its belt for Franco and Formula Fun.

Broadcasters in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Israel and the Arab speaking countries have all snapped up the show, which focuses on Franco, a six year-old boy with a passion for motor racing.

Discussions are now underway with a number of potential key licensees, with a view to kickstarting the licensing drive ahead of the autumn 2010 broadcast launch.

"The appeal of and applications for Franco and Formula Fun are enormous," said Haukur Gislason, who will be helping creator Marina Nicholas with the licensing programme. "We are currently focusing on securing the right master toy licensee before finalising deals for other core categories."

Nicholas added: "Parents will welcome Franco and his friends, with their positive message of teamwork, problem solving and, above all, friendship."
