BWI adds Woolly and Tig

Latest Cbeebies hit show to be given the consumer products treatment.

Brands with Influence has picked up the latest Cbeebies hit series, Woolly and Tig.

The firm will now be working closely with creator Tattiemoon and CharacterShop on a full consumer products programme.

Woolly and Tig is a series of 30 five-minute live action dramas about a three year-old girl (Tig) and her toy spider (Woolly). It is considered one of Cbeebies' fastest ever success stories.

In its first three weeks of tranmission (March 2012) it notched up over 1.5 million viewers.

"Woolly and Tig has been a phenomenal success and we have rapidly become inundated with demand for toys, especially cuddly Woollys," said Helen Doherty, co-MD at Tattiemoon. "It became apparent very early on that we needed help developing a range of licensed products that work with the programme to help kids make sense of their everyday life."

Dom Wheeler, director at Brands with Influence, added: "This is a really important brand and we will be working closely with the production team and our licensees to ensure the magic, excitement and child development benefits are translated into the products."

Tattiemoon is now in production of the second series of Woolly and Tig, which is due to hit screens in spring 2013.
