Captain America returns to UK box office top spot

Disney's sequel has passed the £14m total of 2011's Thor.

Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier has returned to the top of the UK box office.

The film added £1.78m to bring its total after three weeks to £14.62m in the UK, reports Screen.

This means the Disney's Captain America sequel has passed the £14m total of 2011's Thor, and is only £3m away from Iron Man £17.4m total in 2008.

Elsewhere for Disney, Muppets Most Wanted is up to £5.09m to date, while Frozen has now mustered £39.66m in the UK.

Fox's Rio 2 fell from the number one spot to third, taking £1.56m to bring its current total in the UK to £6.8m.
