Platinum Films has secured a multi-territory three season deal with Cartoon Network for Matt Hatter Chronicles in the Middle East.

Seasons one and two of the series premiered on Cartoon Network Arabic's free to air service in the Middle East in July, supported by an on-air promotional campaign and microsite. The new third season will launch in spring 2015.

The deal follows a tri-series acquisition by Cartoon Network India earlier in the year.

"We are very excited to showcase Matt Hatter in the MENA region," said Tarek Mounir, commercial director, Middle East, North Africa, Greece and Cyprus at Turner Broadcasting. "We are always keen to give our young viewers the chance to enjoy new storylines, with exciting characters that have a positive impact on their daily lives."

Master toy partner Simba Dickie's debut Matt Hatter toy range features interlocking skus, 3D Multivision technology and 'Hero Hatter Tech'. Role-play, vehicles and action figures are core to the first phase release.

Nigel Stone, CEO at Platinum Films, commented: "Matt Hatter Chronicles continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted to be extending our alliance with Cartoon Network in this significant multi-territory deal."
