The fledging licensing programme for the new-look Bananas in Pyjamas has been given a boost, with the show hitting the number one ratings spot on Cartoonito in the UK.
The series will shortly roll out across Europe, the Middle East and Africa from September, where it will be one of the flagship shows on Cartoonito.
Ratings information for the week beginning August 8th ranked Bananas in Pyjamas as the most watched programme on Cartoonito by kids aged four to nine.
Turner CN Enterprises has the licensing and merchandising rights for the show for all key territories across EMEA (excluding Eastern Europe and Nordic regions). The licensing programme is due to kick off in 2012.
"We're absolutely delighted by the phenomenal early performance for Bananas in Pyjamas, and are looking forward to seeing the series roll out across Europe, the Middle East and Africa this September," said Gary Finnegan, UK director of programming at Turner Broadcasting.
Bananas in Pyjamas is produced by Southern Star Entertainment/Southern Star Singapore (a division of Endemol Group), in association with ABC.
