CBeebies has ordered the first series of a fresh pre-school TV show from FremantleMedia Enterprises and Nerd Corps.
Kate and Mim-Mim will hit UK screens in 2014. It is produced by Nerd Corps and FME has exclusive worldwide distribution and licensing rights to the programme, outside of Canada.
The show consists of 52 11-minute episodes and is the first in Nerd Corp's growing slate of pre-school properties. It's a character-driven comedy targeting kids aged three to six years old.

“Nerd Corps is always looking to work with the top talent and companies in the kids business. We fell in love with the concept behind Kate and Mim-Mim,” said Ken Faier, Nerd Corps Entertainment's president.
Bob Higgins, EVP Kids & Family Entertainment at FME, added: “Nerd Corps is a hugely creative company and we’re thrilled to be a part of this series. Kate and Mim-Mim is the first of what we think will be many fantastic and fun preschool projects from Nerd Corps and we’re looking forward to introducing it to kids around the world.”
Alison Stewart, Head of CBeebies Production, Animation and Acquisitions, commented: “Pre-school shows with strong female leads are hard to come by, and we’re looking forward to introducing Kate and Mim-Mim to our audience.”
