Ambitious UK agency CCL has secured a deal with US-based Suppertime Entertainment to spearhead a UK licensing drive for pre-school property ToddWorld.
The animated children's series is based on the books by author Todd Parr. It focuses on the amusing adventures of a young boy named Todd and his friends. It airs on Discovery Kids and TLC in the US, in addition to a number of other territories.
In the UK, ToddWorld has enjoyed a successful run on Cbeebies, with scheduling secured until 2012.
"Friendship, community, citizenship are all important values to Cbeebies," said controller Michael Carrington. "ToddWorld is crammed with those values and more. That is why it continues to be an important part of the Cbeebies portfolio."
Michael Gottlieb, head of licensing at CCL, added: "We'd been looking for a property to fill the pre-school category and ToddWorld is just perfect. We are very excited about its significant licensing potential."
Liz Stahler, partner and executive VP at Suppertime, continued: "CCL is ideally placed to meet the growing demands for ToddWorld merchandise in the UK. We are delighted to be partnering with Michael Gottlieb and his team."
