Pre-school franchises Fifi and the Flowertots and Roary the Racing Car are continuing to perform above expectations at retail level, helping Chapman Entertainment achieve some impressive sales results for the second quarter.
In apparel, Roary is a staggering 155 per cent above forecast for Q2 2008. And Fifi has seen a 53 per cent growth compared to the same quarter in 2007.
The duo have also over performed in a number of other categories, notably toys.
Fifi has delivered a rise in toy sales for quarter two compared to the same period last year. There were nine Fifi products in the NPD Top 100 (Source: Pre-school Plush and Puzzle market, July), with over four million toys having now been sold since launch and 22 million products sold overall.
In publishing, Fifi has seen a 62 per cent year-on-year growth, with over 1.3 million books sold to date.
Meanwhile, Roary the Racing Car has enjoyed 1.4 million toy sales since July 2007. The brand has seven products in the Top 100 Pre-school Plush and Puzzle market (Source: NPD, July).
"Roary has demonstrated impressive results in the 14 months since the licensing programme launched and with three years of exceptional growth Fifi continues to deliver, and there's more still to come," said Val Fry, Chapman's director of licensing.
