Chorion expands Noddy's reach

International sales across Northern and Southern Europe secured for Noddy shows.

With this year marking the 60th anniversary of Noddy, Chorion is continuing to push new show Noddy in Toyland and earlier series Make Way for Noddy, securing a number of international sales in Northern and Southern Europe.

RTP Portugal, TV2 Norway and MTV Oy in Finland have all picked up Noddy in Toyland, which has already been pre-bought by Five in the UK and by France 5.

MTV Oy in Finland has also acquired Make Way for Noddy, along with Spanish broadcaster TVE, which has taken the free TV rights to all 100 x ten-minute episodes of the show for broadcast on La 2 and Clan TV.

Master toy, home entertainment and publishing deals are already in place for the territory, while licensing agent Biplano is reporting strong interest from potential partners.

"Noddy is an evergreen property and the character's ongoing appeal is highlighted by these new deals for the latest adventures and also the previous series," said Geraint Marsh, SVP of television sales at Chorion. "We are thrilled to be taking Noddy into new territories."
