Bandai was also recently appointed distribution rights for the property in Spain and will be distributing products from master toy licensee NSR from January 1st 2009.

As Noddy kicks off its 60th anniversary year in 2009, Bandai UK joins a list of over 200 existing licensees around the world.

With a year of celebrations planned with extensive marketing support complementing a new 52-episode series - Noddy In Toyland, an innovative toy range and a new live show, Chorion is poised to make 2009 Noddy’s year.

Bettina Koeckler, head of Licensing Sales EMEA at Chorion said: “We are thrilled to intensify our relationship with Bandai in Europe. Next year will be Noddy’s big anniversary year and welcoming Bandai as a partner for the property in the UK will be instrumental in its success.”

Julian Boyers, managing director, Bandai UK added: “We are very excited to be partnering with both Chorion and NSR on this iconic British brand. We look forward to re-establishing Noddy as a leading preschool license in it 60th anniversary year.”

Nir Pizmony, president of NSR, commented: “NSR is extremely excited to be partnering with an industry leader with the caliber of Bandai as we work to raise Noddy to the number one position for pre-school licenses.”

Since going private last year, Chorion has quietly been building up its portfolio. Now it is ready to shout from the rooftops about its forthcoming line-up, which includes more Noddy activity, as well as the launch of Mr Men and Famous Five projects.
