Having built up a solid fan base in the UK on Cbeebies, Ludorum's Chuggington is now taking on the US.
The pre-school show will air on Playhouse Disney from January 18th, Tuesday to Friday and at weekends.
As well as the UK, Chuggington is also a hit in France, Australia, Germany, Japan and Canada.
"Chuggington is loved by both parents and children worldwide and the lessons in each episode translate well across countries and cultures," said Charlie Caminada, COO at Ludorum. "We are very excited to kick off 2010 with the debut of Chuggington in the US through our partnership with Playhouse Disney.
"Bringing the property to the United States is a natural next step for Chuggington."
Ludorum's US operation is headed up by Maureen Taxter, SVP of consumer products. "We are beginning our conversations now with manufacturers and retailers to craft a strategic brand plan for Chuggington," she said. "Our 2011 consumer products program will include a broad range of merchandise and we're looking forward to building relationships with licensees in several categories."
RC2/Learning Curve is already on board as master toy partner and Ludorum is planning to announce additional partners in the coming months.
