Classic Media has secured a licence renewal with leading children's licensed character merchandise firm Aykroyds & TDP to continue producing nightwear and swimwear lines for the Postman Pat brand.
The five-year deal, which begins this month and runs until December 2012, is an extension of Aykroyds & TDP's longstanding relationship with the property. It includes pyjamas, shortie sets, briefs and vests, dressing gowns (velour and fleece) and swimwear for 12 months to six years.
"We're delighted that Aykroyds & TDP have decided to continue their long standing commitment to Postman Pat and continue to distribute top quality merchandise for the refreshed Postman Pat SDS brand."
Tim Dawson, chief executive of TDP Textiles, added: "It's fantastic to maintain our ongoing partnership with Postman Pat as we continue to view the brand as a long-term opportunity. In the current climate it's the established brands such as Postman Pat that are performing well."
The deal follows news of Postman Pat SDS' continued good success in the pre-school sector. According to new research from NPD, the brand is one of the fastest growing pre-school licences to date in 2009, saying it was the seventh best selling pre-school licence in the UK market in February.
