Classics rides in with Lone Ranger deals

Consumer products drive kicks off in the US with apparel, toys and dress-up.

With the brand gearing up for its 75th anniversary, Classic Media has bought a number of new licensees on board for The Lone Ranger programme.

The character - which has featured in more than 3,000 radio shows, 220 classic TV episodes, three live action films and hundreds of comic books - will now be featured on apparel, as well as dress-up and train sets.

Now & Zen will be launching apparel in department and specialty stores, while Disguise (a division of Jakks Pacific) will debut a line of Lone Ranger costumes and accessories for adults in 2010.

In addition, Lionel Trains has created a special collectible Lone Ranger Wild West train set. Dynamite Entertainment will also continue to expand its comic book line with the release of six new titles this year, plus trading cards, resin statues, lithographs and other memorabilia.
