Cloudbabies, the popular pre-school series from Hoho Entertainment, has been awarded YouTube’s Silver Play Button in recognition of the popularity of its online channel.

Part of the YouTube Creator Awards, the Play Buttons are awarded by YouTube to its best performing channels, which follow the YouTube community guidelines.

The Silver Play Button Award is for channels that reach or surpass 100,000 subscribers.

The Cloudbabies YouTube channel is managed for Hoho by Little Dot Studios, who has also recently launched a German Cloudbabies channel, Wolkenkinder, to support the series which airs on KIKA in Germany.

Wayne Davison, managing director, content acquisition and distribution, Little Dot Studios, said: “Cloudbabies has consistently been one of Little Dot Studios’s top performing kids programme channel.

"There has been an enormous amount of hard work and energy that the wonderful teams at both Hoho and Little Dot have put into growing the brand on YouTube. And so we’re delighted, and definitely not surprised, that it has received this very shiny and well-deserved award.

"Our Berlin team are now on a mission to achieve similar success for Wolkenkinder, for audiences in Germany.”

Helen Howells, joint managing director, Hoho Rights, added: “We are thrilled to be awarded the Silver Play Button. It’s a wonderful achievement for an indie company like ours but we couldn’t do it without the ongoing support of Little Dot and the wonderful people at YouTube.

"The Cloudbabies are aiming beyond the clouds and continue to reach new audiences around the world, most recently China.”

Created by award-winning art director Bridget Appleby, Cloudbabies follows the adventures of four toddlers whose job it is to look after the sky and everything in it.

The series has sold to multiple international broadcasters and recently launched in mainland China on Tencent and iQiYi after Hoho teamed up with media company WOW Dadi, to handle the distribution and merchandising rights for Series 1.

WOW Dadi has also committed to investing in the production of Series 2.
