Expansion of new and existing TV brands means licensing agency is gearing up for a bumper 2008.
Publish date:

With the likes of Spooks, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes and Derek Acorah in its stable of TV properties, Metrostar certainly has a lot of talent to work with.

Started in 2004 by former BBC Worldwide UK marketing director Claire Potter, Metrostar specialises in television and entertainment properties, although it is also a literary agent. Indeed, the firm has six titles in development currently and nearly half of its business is in book publishing.

"I think licensing is an incredibly exciting place to be," Potter told "There are wonderful brands from all walks of life - TV, sport, food, motoring and publishing - and all manner of areas looking to grow through licensing."

It was while she was working at the BBC, that Claire Potter realised the power and untapped potential in television brands: ?At the time, all of the licensing focus was on pre-school and many great family or grown up series were being overlooked,? she explains.
