Corus Entertainment names new head of development for Nelvana

Corus Entertainment has revealed that Athena Georgaklis is joining Nelvana as the team’s new head of development.

In her new position Georgaklis will lead the acquisition of rights and the development of all original content for Nelvana, working with the studio’s producers, creators, and talent around the world.

“We are delighted to welcome Athena to this role,” said Scott Dyer, president of Nelvana.

“Athena joins our team with an exceptional international reputation built on her keen eye for animation and her breadth of knowledge and experience in the industry.”

Prior to joining Nelvana, Georgaklis worked in Canadian broadcast and production for more than 19 years.

She added: "I’m thrilled to be joining Nelvana at this time of growth for the studio.

“I’ve admired this studio’s work for decades and look forward to developing premium kids content that we can distribute around the world.”
