CPLG has scooped the UK rights to the popular property Peanuts having come to an agreement with United Media.
The company will now work on strategically developing the brand in the territory through a planned licensed programme, including gifts and novelties, stationery and possible moves into the fashion and accessories sectors.
One of CPLG’s immediate targets is the 60 anniversary of Peanuts in 2010. Using the stylised look of the brand, CPLG is developing a creative direction to inspire both new and existing licensees.
"It’s such an honour to represent Peanuts in the UK," said CPLG MD Vickie O’Malley. "We’re thrilled at the appointment and very excited about our plans for the future. We’re working towards the first ever UK Peanuts summit on February 25 and looking forward to meeting with existing licensees and new potential partners to talk about our plans."
Elizabeth Murphy, United Media’s executive director of international licensing in Europe, added: "With demonstrated success, CPLG represents the Peanuts brand in France, Germany, Spain and Portugal, so adding the UK to their charge makes strategic sense. We look forward to working with Vickie O’Malley and her team in developing a plan to expand Peanuts into new categories, while working with our current licensees in developing new opportunities to grow their businesses."
