CPLG Sport boosts RFU licensing drive

Brace of deals scored for England Rugby brand.

A further two partners have come on board for the licensing programme for the Rugby Football Union.

Licensing agent CPLG Sport has signed up Future Memorabilia for a line of framed memorabilia with built-in LCD TV, while Sports Merchandise Global has become the official licensee for England Rugby branded non-retail premiums, corporate merchandise and gifts.

"England Rugby is a huge brand and these new deals are adding to what is already an incredibly strong programme, and one that is set to develop further as commercial foundations are laid for the next Rugby World Cup," said Nicola Thompson, CPLG Sport's senior commercial manager.

Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU chief commercial officer, added: "We are excited to announce these new additions to the RFU's licensing programme and these partnerships come at a time when the licensing community is becoming increasingly aware of the huge commercial possibilities that surround the England Rugby brand in the build up to the 2015 Rugby World Cup."
