Marylebone Cricket Club has made CPLG Sport the exclusive UK licensing agent for the Ashes Urn trademark until 2015.
The firm will now work alongside MCC to promote the licensing opportunities across key categories for the Urn.
Founded in 1787, MCC is the world's most famous and active cricket playing club. As well as fulfilling over 500 fixtures each year - in the UK and overseas - it also owns and maintains Lord's Cricket Ground.
The Ashes Urn - bequeathed to MCC by former England captain, Ivo Bligh, on his death in 1927 - resides in the MCC Museum.
"We are delighted to be working with MCC and to be representing the Ashes Urn in the UK," said Nicola Lord, senior commercial manager at CPLG Sport. "The brand is one of the most iconic and recognised in the whole of sport and we are looking forward to working with promotional partners and high-end licensees across all categories."
MCC assistant secretary, Jon Robinson, added: "This is an exciting new relationship for MCC, and forms a significant part of the club's long-term strategy to grow multiple MCC brands on a global scale.
"Through CPLG Sport, we will now start the search for appropriate licensees to develop Ashes Urn branded products in the build up to England's defence of the Ashes in the 2013 series, in which Lord's will stage a test match."
