CPLG to develop licensing push for Life is Strange

The first episode in Square Enix's critically acclaimed video game series has won numerous awards, including a BAFTA for Best Story.

Square Enix has appointed CPLG as the licensing agent for its Life is Strange video game series.

Working across Europe, the Middle East and North America, the company will handle the licensing for all categories and is looking to sign new local and regional territory licensees.

The five part episodic game follows the character of Max, a photography senior who saves an old friend after discovering she can rewind time, and a Life is Strange style guide is now available to allow licensees to develop fashion and trend product across different categories.

As well as episodic key art and quotes, the guide also includes t-shirt and tattoo designs sported by the characters in the game.

“Life is Strange is a unique and highly license-able property," said Steve Manners, executive vice president at CPLG. 

"The compelling visual style translates to relevant, fashion orientated product, giving fans of the game a unique opportunity to immerse themselves further in the award winning game. We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Square Enix”.

Jon Brooke, VP brand and European marketing at Square Enix, added: “Life Is Strange has been a huge success for Square Enix winning multiple awards and love from players on the way. Our aim is to grow the brand for our fans and this partnership with CPLG is a large step towards doing exactly this.”
