CPLG US picks new retail business head

Former Fox man, Jeff Shapiro, to focus on retail expansion of Cookie Jar brands.

Former 20th Century Fox exec Jeff Shapiro has joined CPLG US as its new VP of retail business development.

In his new role, Shapiro will promote a wide range of brands at all levels of retail, focusing on the retail expansion of Cookie Jar properties including Richard Scarry's Busytown, Johnny Test and Caillou, plus the Harlem Globetrotters, Strawberry Shortcake, Lucha Libre USA and Varsity.

"Jeff brings more than 15 years of industry experience to his new position, having worked with some of the world's most recognisable brands," said Cindy Davis, SVP of licensing at CPLG US. "He'll play a key role in the company's continued growth, expanding our client base as well as overseeing key licensing programmes and brand development at retail."

At Fox L&M, Shapiro worked on retail marketing campaigns for numerous TV and film properties, including The Simpsons Movie.

He has also held positions at Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Art Impressions.
