DCD Publishing DVD has acquired the UK rights for CGI/live action series, Dino Dan.
The Breakthrough Entertainment show launched in 2010, becoming the most watched debut on Nick Jr in the US. It is now playing across 90 countries, including on ITV in the UK.
In terms of DVD, strong sales have already been reported in the US, Canada and Australia. Sales in the US have exceeded $1 million revenue at retail in 2012, with 250,000 being sold in less than seven months in the territory.
The entire Dino Dan franchise - which includes 26 30-minute episodes and 52 11-minute episodes - will be packaged in a series of five DVD titles to be released over the next 12 months.
"This is an exceptional opportunity for our established DVD label to represent the DVD rights to one of the fastest growing children's properties in the UK and branch out into the kids' genre," said Adrian Sington, CEO of DCD Publishing.
