DCP grows China team

Three key appointments help bolster firm in major territory.

Disney Consumer Products in Greater China has made three new appointments in a bid to further grow the business.

Roger Chan has been appointed as director, Hong Kong, and will be leading the business with full management responsibility over the licensing and retail, sales and marketing businesses.

Steve Chan, meanwhile, has rejoined Disney as regional director for apparel in Greater China. He joined Disney in 1999 and was previously category director for accessories, apparel and footwear. He continues to be based in Shanghai.

Finally, Kermid Rahman is now regional director of apparel for Greater China. Rahman joined Disney in 2002 and was previously senior category manager of softlines in Hong Kong.

Rahman will report to Lester Lee, VP of accessories, apparel and footwear, Greater China and is based in Shanghai.

"The Disney Consumer Products business is a key brand driver across Greater China and an integral part of our overall entertainment offering," said Stanley Cheung, executive VP and MD of The Walt Disney Company in Greater China. "We are driving growth through our expansive portfolio of popular and much loved franchises, from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Disney Princess to Cars and Toy Story, to deliver high quality and innovative products for Disney fans."
