DCP readying Hannah Montana push

With the film hitting the UK this week, consumer products begin to roll out.

Disney Consumer Products is planning to take advantage of the huge wave of hype surrounding the launch of the Hannah Montana movie in the UK, revealing a host of licensed product to accompany it.

Within the toy category, DCP and its partners will be rolling out the pocket sized Pix Micro Digital Camera - which holds up to 40 photos - a Mix Stick, Gem Headphones and a Hannah Montana Portable Speaker Bag.

In addition, a selection of Hannah Montana movie dolls - the Hannah Montana doll and Miley Stewart doll - will be available, along with a branded TV with built-in DVD player, electric guitar, 100-piece 2D puzzles and Top Trumps.

Moving into arts and crafts, and product available will include Teeny Meez - which allows girls to design, decorate and display fashion creations on a mini mannequin - Funky Jewels, Secret Star Magazine and a Hannah Montana Cool Card.

There is a selection of stationery including ring binder, stationery set, reversible pencil case, ten colour pen set, notebooks and pens, all available alongside a Party Planner, Rockin' Dream Journal, Summer Annual, movie sticker collecion and Hannah Montana The Official Magazine.

Finally, a range of home products will be available - including duvet sets, wall posters and canvas art - plus a variety of products in the health, beauty and fashion sectors.

Since debuting in the UK in May 2006, Hannah Montana has become a major franchise for the Walt Disney Company ? and Dominic Worsley, director of franchise marketing for the UK and Ireland at DCP, is convinced things can get even better, with 2009 set to be the property?s biggest year yet.
