Cbeebies hit show Grandpa In My Pocket is eyeing up key licensing areas as it looks to expand on its screen success.

Created by Adastra Creative, Decode Enterprises has the worldwide television, DVD and consumer products rights for the show. Decode recently signed Brandzoo as the licensing agent for the UK.

It has already earmarked the publishing, toy and apparel sectors. Indeed, the first two licensees are due to be announced at Brand Licensing Europe next month, with early stage products due to be on display at Toy Fair and Spring Fair in 2010.

The 26x12-minute series launched on Cbeebies back in February. Since then it has regularly topped the channel's ratings and held a number of slots in the BBC's iPlayer top ten. Series one repeats began in the autumn, with series two already in production. It has also been sold to a number of international territories.

"We're looking forward to working with Adastra on the creation of products across a number of categories that we are sure will do justice to the success and style of this wonderful family brand," said Jenny Johnstone, MD of Brandzoo.
