DHX Media’s popular children’s series Hank Zipzer has been commissioned for a third season by CBBC.

The hit kids’ comedy series – produced in association with Walker Productions and Kindle Entertainment – will return to TV screens with it latest installment this summer as the second season readies to air this August.

The show is based on the New York Times best-selling book series, Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Underachiever which is co-written by Henry Winkler, famed for his role as The Fonz in Happy Days.

Inspired by Winkler’s experience as a child, the series follows 14 year old Hank, a smart and resourceful boy with dyslexia.

Steven DeNure, president and COO of DHX Media, said: “This is a heart-warming, funny, relatable series that we enjoy making just as much as audiences enjoy watching.

“With CBBC’s commitment to a third season, and with season two set to air from the summer, Hank will continue to win fans with more playful misbehavior.”
