Disney, BBC and JK Rowling are among the first brand owners to pledge their allegiances to Sony’s Wonderbook product for PlayStation 3.

The virtual book reading device lets users point their PlayStation Eye camera at their living room carpet, open the Wonderbook and see words and imagery from the book come to life on their TV.

During its press conference at Gamescom last night, Sony confirmed that BBC will be releasing a Walking with Dinosaurs product for Wonderbook, while Disney will also be releasing virtual books for the upcoming platform.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling previously announced the Book of Spells for the device, while Moonbot Studios is working on new IP Diggs Nightcrawler.
