The range includes action figures, a fashion collection, dress-up sets and Thor’s unbreakable hammer, ‘Mjolnir’.

The hammer appears to be the hero product, with lights, sounds and a launching projectile for “exciting and action packed role-playing experiences.”

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the live-action film is based on the Marvel Thor graphic novels, where the Nordic god is sent to defend modern-day Earth.

“Thor has been brought to life once again with this exciting new range of products,” said Marianthi O’Dwyer, vice president, consumer products for The Walt Disney Company UK.

“Marvel characters are idolised by fans of all ages and we’re confident that these products will help launch the legend of Thor to a new generation of movie-goers,” he added.

The film stars Oscar-winners Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, alongside former Home and Away actor Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
