Disney Interactive has revealed its follow up to Disney Infinity, having partnered with Marvel Entertainment to release Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes.

The new toy and video game hybrid will feature more than 20 new interactive figures from across the Marvel universe.

The new game will also see original storylines penned by the Marvel comic writer Brian Michael Bendis, alongside a new Toy Box mode designed to make it easier for players to create and share their unique levels and mini games.

And collectors of last year’s line up of characters and power discs need fret not, as all Disney Infinity characters will be compatible with the Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes toy Box.

“Disney Infinity was, from the start built to be an interactive experience where players could bring together their favourite Disney characters and stories to create new Disney memories,” said Jimmy Pitaro, president of Disney Interactive.

“With the introduction of Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes, we are ushering in a new chapter of adventures, featuring a cast of the world’s most popular Super Heroes.”

The Avengers’ Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Hawkeye will all debut when the game launches this autumn.

They will be joined by additional Play Sets and characters form other popular Marvel and Disney franchises in following months.

“We have worked closely with the Disney Interactive team to deliver an incredible line-up of Marvel characters and great story telling for the next chapter of Disney Infinity,” said Peter Phillips, EVP and general manager, interactive and digital distribution at Marvel Entertainment.

“The 2.0 edition will allow Marvel fans around the world to interact with their favourite Marvel Super Heroes in entirely new ways, including compelling gameplay and a new line of collectible interactive figures.”
