Disney's Frozen became the single highest rated premiere ever on Sky Movies over Christmas 2014.
Over 5 million viewers watched the premiere of Frozen in its first week on the channel and during Frozen’s first broadcast, Sky Movies Premiere was the biggest channel in Sky homes on Christmas Day.
The Lego Movie and Captain America: The Winter Soldier also did well for the channel, delivered over 2m viewers each on Sky Movies Premiere.
On demand viewing across Sky peaked on December 27th, 2014, with 3.7million downloads, the highest figure ever recorded.
“The Frozen effect on families at Christmas was truly magical,” said Ian Lewis, director, Sky Movies.
“The important trend that we’ve seen is that families don’t want to be beholden to schedules at that time of year – we now see more viewing on demand than on our live channels.
"Whilst we will always give our customers a choice about the way they choose to watch, we’re very proud to be the biggest on demand movies service in the UK - at Christmas and throughout the year.”
