Disney’s live action remake of its classic animation Beauty and the Beast will hit theatres from March 17th, 2017, the studio has confirmed.
Award-winning actress, Emma Thompson has also confirmed her involvement in the Emma Watson-starring film, taking on the role of Mrs. Potts.
Meanwhile, Kevin Kline will play Maurice, Belle’s father.
According to Disney, the live-action remake will feature the original songs from the 1991 animated feature, as well as a slate of new ones written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
Watson will take on the role of the film’s heroine, Belle, while Beast will be portrayed by Dan Stevens and Gaston will be played by Luke Evans.
The title will be released in 3D and will feature a mix of CG and live-action.
