Entertainment company Diverse Media Group has completed the acquisition of a 50 per cent equity stake in Celebrities in Action - a joint venture which will see new superhero character franchises based on real-life Hollywood celebrities.

The new characters will be developed with major stars of film, music, television and sport. Plans include original storylines spanning television, film, mobile and home entertainment, video games, publishing, consumer products and merchandising.

CIA already has an existing joint venture with Stan Lee's Pow! Entertainment. This will see it develop, produce and distribute animated programming, content and merchandise based on the premise of real-life celebrities in competition against characters from other worlds.

DMG will identify and secure the celebrity participation, while Lee will provide the creative vision to shape the superhero personas.

"We are delighted to provide the setting for Stan Lee to create characters based on real stars," said Chris Nassif, Hollywood talent agent and founder of Diverse Media Group.
