BBC Worldwide is extending the Doctor Who brand into another new area this week - with the live show kicking off in London, before visiting a further eight cities.

A selection of licensed product will also be available to buy at each venue, as well as official tour merchandise.

The tour begins this Friday (October 8th) with three nights at Wembley Arena, London, before moving on to Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff and Liverpool.

The 25-date tour ends in Belfast on November 7th.

"Doctor Who Live is another opportunity to extend the brand into new spaces and platforms," Fiona Eastwood, commercial director for the Doctor Who franchise, explained to "The live show will bring all the magic of the television series to our biggest arena venues, complete with stunning clips, a full live orchestra and fantastic special effects.

"We're incredibly excited about bringing the monsters to life on stage and we even have a brand new character, Vorgenson, the Greatest Showman in the Galaxy, created by Steven Moffat especially for the tour.

"It will be an absolute must-see for kids, parents and all Doctor Who fans," Eastwood continued.

Three licensed items will be on sale throughout the tour: Character Options' Sonic Screwdriver; Winning Moves' Doctor Who Top Trumps card game; and the Tardis backpack from Trademark. All best sellers, the products were also selected to offer a range of price points to fans.

On top of this, an exclusive range of tour merchandise will include tour and monster themed t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts, a tour book, posters, key rings, baseball caps and pin badges. Products will be available at both the arena shows and online.
