DreamWorks Animation Publishing has signed a deal with IglooBooks for the development, sale and distribution of its core publishing throughout the UK.

IglooBooks recently worked with DreamWorks Animation Publishing on the successful launch of a range of Postman Pat movie tie-in books and the firm will launch the first titles inspired by the Dragons: Riders of Berk TV series later this month.

The deal includes colouring, activity, storybooks, novelty and eBook formats and IglooBooks’ first launch will be a series of titles based on the Penguins of Madagascar movie hitting cinemas this December.

In 2015, IglooBooks will publish and distribute print books and eBooks based on the likes of Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek and The Croods.

The firm will also focus their publishing efforts on DreamWorks Animation’s television content as well as new upcoming theatrical releases Home, opening in UK cinemas in March 2015, and B.O.O, opening in UK cinemas in October 2015.

“DreamWorks Animation Publishing is quickly establishing a presence in the UK market and the opportunity to work with IglooBooks will help us to grow our business across key retail channels.” said head of DreamWorks Animation Publishing, Emma Whittard.

“Publishing is a critical component of any successful franchise, and to bring our content to such an important global market will expand the worlds of our most beloved characters to an even greater audience.”

John Styring, CEO at IglooBooks, added: “We are very excited by the opportunities presented by our alliance with DreamWorks Animation Publishing.

"The agreement to publish digital and print books featuring their iconic range of characters is an important step. We know our readers will enjoy this exciting range of books and we look forward to bringing the fantastic array of characters to life.”
