DRi has announced a new addition to its portfolio in the form of quarterly publication The Happy News.

Launched in December 2015 after a successful funding campaign, The Happy News aims to connect with audiences of all ages with a range of positive and uplifting stories from around the world accompanied by witty and colourful illustrations.

The project is the brain-child of art school graduate Emily Coxhead, who believes that now more than ever the world needs to shine a light on positive events.

“I launched The Happy Newspaper to bring a tiny bit of sunshine into the world and open people’s eyes to a better, happier world," explains Coxhead.

"Its aim isn’t to cover up the negatives, it’s simply to remind people just how much good stuff happens in the world – because it’s there, we just have to find it. The Happy Newspaper reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can go a very long way. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to expand the Happy News brand and hopefully make even more people smile along the way.”

Elsewhere, Pigment Productions have already got on board with the brand who have launched a greetings card collection nationwide in the Spring, covering 50 designs.

“With so much trouble in the world today, The Happy News is really heart-warming and positive and champions some of the genuine goodness in the world," added Alicia Davenport, Licensing Director at DRi.

"Emily is a natural talent and we’re so pleased to be working with her on this wonderfully motivational property.”
