New pre-school series Driver Dan's Story Train is to make its debut in the US, after Twofour54 struck a deal with TV channel, Sprout.
And, with the book range already available in the UK, the firm also revealed plans for a new dual language website as it looks to build the Driver Dan brand internationally, specifically in the Middle East and North Africa region. It will incorporate educational and literacy elements.
US 24-hour pre-school network Sprout has ordered 52 episodes of Driver Dan's Story Train, airing from November. It has also commited to purchase future episodes.
Twofour54 - and its partners, 3Line Media - will be hoping the series can have a similar impact to the one it has enjoyed in the UK, since it began airing on Cbeebies. For the 12 months to April 2010, the show had been viewed by almost six million people.
The first Driver Dan Story Train books launched in the UK earlier this month, following a global publishing deal with Macmillan Children's Books. The range includes character-based board books, paperback stories and activity books in multiple languages (including English and Arabic).
Production of the Arabic version of Driver Dan by partner company Blink Studios is also due to complete at the end of the summer.
"Taking Driver Dan to the US represents a significant opportunity in terms of reach and commercial return on our investment, whilst the move online will assist us with turning the brand into a multiplatform hit globally," said Wayne Borg, COO of Twofour54.
