Endemol UK has granted Drumond Park the rights to produce a board game based on the Channel 4 show, Million Pound Drop.

Hosted by Davina McCall, the show originally aired in a six-day run back in May, averaging over 2.2 million daily viewers. Nine further weekday and weekend episodes are scheduled for October and November.

"We have had a satisfying and successful relationship with Drumond Park in the recent past, with sales through the Deal or No Deal franchise still going strong more than five years since the board game was first developed," explained Seema Khan, head of consumer products at Endemol UK.

"What we particularly like, is that they are experts at creatively translating the excitement and strategic essences of a particular TV show into a popular game, which can provide endless entertainment for the family at home.

"We are sure that the Million Pound Drop game will be a huge success and look forward to seeing the finished version, which will be going into the shops towards the middle of November."

Claire McCool, joint founder and marketing director at Drumond Park, added: "Our game, which echoes all the key aspects of the on-screen and online gameplay, will appeal in a big way to both couples and young families looking for something trendy and different to play over Christmas and the New Year."
