Emoji hits the catwalk with Edward Crutchley fashion deal

Leading fashion designer, Edward Crutchley is working in collaboration with the emoji brand to develop a new clothing collection for London Fashion Week.

The deal was brokered by the brand management and merchandise company, Bravado.

The emoji company is the owner and licensor of the registered emoji trademark and more than 7,000 icons, patterns and stickers that are central to communication today.

The collaboration is the second for emoji within the luxury market.

‘Heritage, tradition and spirituality remain central to Crutchley’s work with this season seeing a fresh perspective on globalism and how this cultural melding has created a space for cultural expression and sharing,’ read a statement from the firm.

‘This season’s collection explores the use of graphics across different textile media to create a contrast of texture and sense of richness.’

Edward Crutchley launched his label in 2015 and has since worked with the likes of Pringle, Kanye West and Louis Vuitton.

Crutchely is the latest in a portfolio of more than 450 global licensees and partners, including the likes of Zara, Sony Pictures Animation, Global Brands Group, Kipling, Tesco, Kellogg’s and more.
