Entertainment One has revealed its broadcast and licensing plans for Peppa Pig in Spain.
Spain's national broadcaster RTVE will be launching Peppa Pig series one and two as part of its Clan Kids Block this month. The launch will be supported by on-channel promotions, presence on the RTVE website and editorial in its official magazine.
Licensed merchandise will begin rolling out in Spain from August 2012, with Bandai Espana confirmed as the official toy distributor in the region.
The firm will be handling Character Options' range of toys, Ty Beanie Babies and SEI Electronic Learning Aids.
In addition, Random House is on board for publishing and discussions are now underway with local agent El Ocho for licensing agreements in all categories including apparel and footwear, party, puzzles, games and back to school.
"With both RTVE and Bandai on board we couldn't have asked for a better start to the Spanish licensing programme," said Andrew Carley, head of global licensing at Entertainment One. "Our approach is always to create long-term opportunities and both RTVE and Bandai understand this fully. Their early commitment once again reflects the growing international appeal of Peppa."
