Event Merchandising joins LIMA

Firm looking to grow licensing activity for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Trade body LIMA is continuing to welcome high profile organisations as members, with Event Merchandising becoming the latest to sign up.

The firm develops and markets merchandise for brands ranging from blue chip corporates to Big Brother, Sherlock Holmes, TNA Wrestling, Evel Knievel, Live Earth and a number of music artists.

This year, Event is the official ad hoc retailer for the London 2012 Olympics and is also the key licensing partner for the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant and other major Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the capital.

The firm is actively looking for licensees to come on board for the Jubilee Pageant programme, and help raise money for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Trust.

It has already signed up a coin and publishing licensee, as well as souvenirs such as a hand-carved chess set featuring the royal barges.

The Pageant is the major event on the Jubilee weekend (Sunday June 3rd). Over 1,000 boats and 30,000 participants will be sailing down the Thames, led by the Queen on the Royal Barge. The BBC is broadcasting all day, together with coverage on Sky and ITV.

"Along with the Olympics, the Jubilee Pageant will be a unique opportunity for licensees to be part of a historic celebration, which will no doubt become part of the cultural fabric of this country," said Jeremy Goldsmith, MD of Event Merchandising. "We are keen to speak to companies who want to become part of this remarkable experience.

"Joining LIMA is a way for us to increase our contact with the licensing community and gives us greater visibility both in the UK and abroad."
