Barbie fans gathered in London over the weekend to join X Factor voice coach, Yvie Burnett for an exclusive Barbie singing masterclass.
The young fans were also treated to an exclusive screening of the popular doll’s new movie, Barbie and the Secret Door, one week before its release.
Burnett hosted a signing class to help teach children how to warm up their voice, how to sing to an audience and finally learn the new song from the film, If I Had Magic.
“The event enabled us to provide a fantastic experience for Barbie fans, bringing to life the singing theme of the movie,’ said Denise Fillary, girls senior brand manager, Mattel UK.
“It allowed girls and their families to engage even further with the brand.”
For those unable to attend the event, Mattel has launched a Barbie Secret Door Musictorial video, available through the Barbie Secret Door site from the beginning of September.
Here, kids will be offered tips from Burnett as well as the chance to sing along with Barbie and her friends to the key song from the movie.
The Barbie and the Secret Door singing masterclass is part of Mattel’s extensive marketing programme in support of the new DVD and toy line.
Out in Vue cinemas on August 30th and 31st and released on DVD on September 1st, Barbie and the Secret Door will also be supported through further singing masterclasses held at 27 Razzamataz schools across the country on Saturday, August 30th.
Open to kids aged three to eight, the masterclasses are designed to help them discover the magic of singing as they learn how to develop their voice and perform songs from Barbie’s new movie.
