French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has chosen the characters from Comedy Central's hit show South Park to be the music icons of his new high-end collection, Holly Boys and Naughty Girls.
The collaboration with Nickelodeon Consumer Products International will see men's and women's wear capsule collections - including t-shirts, tops, sweatshirts and leggings - lauch as part of the JC/DC line.
Key markets will be France, Italy, Germany, Russia and the UK, while the range will be available at de Castelbajac's dedicated boutiques in London, Paris and Ukraine.
"South Park resonates with young people who do not want to be part of the mainstream crowd, and these are just the type of shoppers who appreciate Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's idiosyncratic design signature," said Jean-Philippe Randisi, SVP and MD of NCPI.
De Castelbajac added: "I discovered South Park and Nirvana at the same time. I would mute my TV to play Smells Like Teen Spirit loud. The fusion of the two made perfect sense to me. My JC/DC line is about rock and roll and South Park - with its irreverent story lines, quirky characters, its colourful range, brutality and noisy drawing - encapsulates the world I want to portray."
