Fireman Sam becomes a radio star on Chris Moyles' show

Pre-school favourite becomes first kids' TV character to be interviewed on breakfast slot.

Hit Entertainment pre-school character Fireman Sam appeared on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning, to launch the character's fire safety campaign for Bonfire Night.

During the interview with celebrity reporter Dominic Byrne (pictured with Fireman Sam), the character told the show's listeners his top tips for having a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night this weekend.

Thousands of listeners apparently texted in to ask questions and request personal greetings for children all over the country.
