Hit Entertainment has teamed up with The Sun newspaper for a special Fireman Sam competition.

The duo launched a nationwide search to find Fireman Sam's Little Heroes - children aged three to ten who have followed in the footsteps of the character and potentially saved lives through an act of bravery.

The child deemed the ultimate 'Little Hero' will have their story re-enacted by the characters of Pontypandy in an episode from series eight, due to be delivered in spring 2012.

The campaign will run until March 25th and will be judged by the original Fireman Sam creators, Dave Jones, Dave Gingell and Rob Lee, as well as representatives from Hit Entertainment and The Sun.

"We're looking for a child who has spotted a dangerous or potentially hazardous situation and called for help, whether that's by alerting an adult or by calling 999 themselves," said former fireman, Gingell.
